The Drone Federation of India has collaborated with the Indian Air Force (IAF) to co-host ‘Bharat Drone Shakti 2023.’ The event is scheduled for September 25th and 26th, 2023, and it will be hosted at the IAF’s Hindan airbase in Ghaziabad, where the Indian drone industry will demonstrate live aerial capabilities.
Drone technology has significantly transformed civil and defence sectors by enhancing efficiency, reducing risk exposure, and bolstering capabilities. In India, drones are steadily growing, spanning military and civilian applications. The Indian Air Force (IAF) extensively employs Remotely Piloted Aircraft for Intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, showcasing its trust in the burgeoning indigenous drone design and development capabilities. This confidence is underscored by initiatives like the Meher Baba Swarm Drone competition, with ongoing iterations.

‘Bharat Drone Shakti 2023’ will showcase the full potential of the Indian drone industry with over 50 live aerial demonstrations, encompassing survey drones, agriculture drones, fire suppression drones, tactical surveillance drones, heavy-lift logistics drones, loitering munition systems, drone swarms, and counter-drone solutions. The event will witness participation from more than 75 drone startups and corporate entities.
Expecting approximately 5,000 attendees, including representatives from the central government, state departments, public and private industries, armed forces, paramilitary forces, international delegates, academics, students, and drone enthusiasts, ‘Bharat Drone Shakti 2023’ aims to bolster India’s commitment to becoming a global drone hub by 2030.
