  • Andhra University to open an Innovation Centre for drone technology. The centre aims to train students in designing, manufacturing, research among others.

  • Under the skill development scheme, the government of Maharashtra is promoting the use of drones in agriculture and set up drone schools to increase the use of drones and provide training to 6000 youths.
  • The government’s flagship production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for FY23 has released about Rs 30 crore to the shortlisted drone and drone component manufacturers.
  • Garuda Aerospace plans on manufacturing drones in partnership with 120 companies with the aim of producing 100 percent indigenous drones in a year.
