Marut Drones wins bronze as the Best Start-Up Company at Telangana State Industry Awards 2022

The leading drone manufacturer in India, “Marut Dronetech Pvt. Ltd.,” has won a bronze as Telangana’s Best Start-Up company at the Telangana State Industrial Awards on March 7, 2023. At the Annual Meeting on Beyond India@75 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Government of Telangana and GlobalLinker announced the winners of the “Industries Awards 2022.”

The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce, and Information Technology, Shri K T Rama Rao, presided over the awards ceremony and presented awards to 28 winners. Under the guidance of Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana, the awards were presented.

In addition to Mr. Sameer Vakil, co-founder and CEO of GlobalLinker, the esteemed jury also included Mr. E V Narasimha Reddy, VC and MD of TSIIC, Mr. Ajit Rangnekar, Director General, Research & Innovation Circle of Hyderabad Partner, Mr. Yerram Raju, Former Advisor and Director, Telangana Industrial Health Clinic, Ms. Vatsala Mishra, OSD, Industries and Commerce Dept.

Marut Dronetech Pvt. Ltd., recently got Type Certification approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation for their extensively tested and robustly designed multi-utility agricultural drone AG 365. Marut Dronetech Pvt. Ltd., also received RPTO approvals, enabling drone pilot training and capacity building for safe agricultural operations, repair, and maintenance.

Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce, and Information Technology of Telangana Shri K T Rama Rao said, “The likes of Mr. Prem Vislawath of Marut Dronetech Pvt. Ltd., are charting the unexplored territories. Nobody has ever considered space technology to be a topic we could discuss in India with ease. Prem is completely altering the drone industry. He played a key role in helping us develop the innovative project “Medicine from the Sky,” which uses advanced technology to send medicines from Hyderabad to remote areas.

“The winners of the Industry Awards 2022 represent industry achievers and innovators who with the dint of their efforts have created impact in their respective fields and accomplished excellence in various categories”, said Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Industry & Commerce, Government of Telangana.

Mr. Prem Kumar Vislawath, founder and CEO of Marut Dronetech Pvt. Ltd., remarked on receiving bronze for the best start-up in Telangana, saying, “It has been a really ambitious drive to disrupt the agriculture sector with drone technology. With the best talent available, we set out to accomplish our goals. We got there early, but that also means we need to work harder and longer in the future to produce better and more results.

The annual awards for SMEs were presented on the GlobalLinker platform for the fifth year consecutively by the Government of Telangana . In seven categories—Best Export Performance, Best Innovation, Best Sustainability Practices, Best CSR Practices, Best Start-up, Special Contribution (IT Services), and Best IPR Portfolio—the Telangana Industry Awards honour the best companies in the state. The winners of the awards are chosen based on their efforts to advance their organisations’ particular fields and achieve excellence in a variety of categories. The awards also aim to improve the state ecosystem for industrial development, and their win is exemplary in light of their ongoing battle with Covid-19.

There were over 1200 competitors for picking Marut Drones as the bronze winner, and the panel decided the winners according to the preceding parameters across the state, recognising extraordinary achievements made by Telangana-based companies, including both large and small organisations.

The founder of Marut Dones, Mr. Prem Vislawath, addressed at the recent Y20 Summit in Guwahati about the “Future of Work: Industry 4.0 Innovation and 21st Century Skills” during the event. The mechanisms that can be used to control unfair competition, prices, and workforce, as well as the steps for overcoming a work crisis, were discussed by Mr. Prem Vislawath. “Despite a decrease in workforce due to AI automation, those with the necessary skills can take on more challenging roles and be future-ready.” He also discussed the G20’s view on the global economic crisis as a result of the war between Ukraine and Russia, how ChatGPT will take over jobs from industries, the role of AI-ML in layoffs and the need to reskill the workforce. He also emphasised necessity of policies to stop brain drain.
